From 17 June to 8 August, the public can visit (ready) Media: Towards an Archaeology of the media and invention in Mexico , exposure to the Laboratorio Arte Alameda (LAA) opens its doors to a project whose main objective is the creation of a specialized file on art, new media and technology, as well as crosses and artistic practices that have generated such areas in Mexico.
To (ready) Media: Towards an Archaeology of the media and the invention in Mexico were invited to work more than 20 specialists for over a year and 8 being obtained curatorial organized around sound art video, experimental film, technology obsolescence, curatorial statements, new practices and technology in Mexico. Participating curators: David Wood, Jesse Lerner, Juan Pablo Anaya y Gabriela Mendez, Grace Quintanilla, Erandy Vergara, Liliana Quintero, Manuel Rocha Iturbide and Israel Martinez and Bruno Varela.
These works have been recovered in 6 DVD's that form the body of the exhibition, giving the public access to the work of over 100 Mexican artists. Parallel to the exhibition, will be a series of activities whose aim is to bring our audiences not only practice, but the process of reflection upon it, these activities include workshops, seminars, discussions and Cycles Concerts.
addition to the exhibition halls, (ready) Media has produced a consultation document can be distributed nationally and internationally, opening a line of mediation on the diversity of approaches and work interpretation to the art forms and aesthetic experiences can be articulated from the crossings with the methodology of science and technological devices.
This publication is presented as a first volume consisting of audiovisual material and publication: 6 DVD's are eight curatorial content featuring the work of more than 100 artists and a book containing various essays organized into 4 sections: background, critical readings, testimonials and spaces.
Opening (ready) Media: Towards an Archaeology of the media and the invention in Mexico , will be held on 17 June at 20:00 hrs. with the conference "Cybernetics in Mexico" by Dr. Susana Quintanilla and "The draft Cybersyn" Juan José Díaz Infante, entry to these conferences is free and space is limited.
