Ars Electronica, the festival of electronic arts more important internationally, is presented for the first time in Mexico through of (in) dynamic position, sample of eight parts and an educational program that revolve around the flow of information and reflect on the use and impact of technology on contemporary society.
The work of 25 artists will be exhibited in four locations as follows: Spain Cultural Center shows the parts of Telephony Mariano Sardon and Life Writer of Christa Sommerer & Laurent Mignonneau , at the Laboratorio Arte Alameda Hylozoic Soil of Philip Beesley, Zee of Kurt Hentschläger , Solar of Rejane Cantoni & Leonardo Crescenti and finally Corpora in if (gh) te of the Collective doubleNegativesArchitecture .
particular site is presented in Apnea of Ivan Abreu that is installed in the subway vent, located on the left side of the forecourt of the Palace of Fine Arts, for its part (19 ° 18'51 "N, 99 ° 11.7 'W) of Pablo Valbuena was shown on 13 and 14 March in the front MUAC of University City.
During the press tour at the Laboratorio Arte Alameda are attended by the invited artists, who orally explained the concept proposed in each of his pieces:
Corpora in if (gh) te
doubleNegatives Architecture / Sota Ichikawa, Max Rheiner, Ákos Maroy, Kaoru Kobata / 2007
Although a project that talks about the architectural space, from its origins drain the idea of \u200b\u200barchitecture as a building for architectural practice and thought. Corpora is a hybrid installation, which display is obtained from augmented reality technology.
A network of sensors is placed around the exhibition space, through which information is captured on the environment (wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity and noise), which are processed by software and translated on the nodes that articulate the sensory network. These nodes are like seeds of a virtual architecture that grows and adapts, independent decision making and leads to architectural structures both within and outside the exhibition venue.
Corpora can be defined as information based architecture rather than physical materials, as fluency as a way of life is achieved from the data obtained by the sensor network, which in turn simulates the sensory capacity of human skin, capable of detecting climate changes in the environment. Solar
Rejane Cantoni / Leonardo Crescenti, Brazil, 2007
Solar
a robotic platform, interactive and immersive. It is designed to simulate the qualities and intensity of sunlight in space-time relationship of human beings. In the center of the room are placed two metal arches (one mobile and one fixed) containing rails on which slides a dimmer light reflector, whose movement is the result of the interpretation that the system performs based on data entered by users. On the wall was a projection panorama that reveals the geographic coordinates of the Earth, also changing according to the latitudes and longitudes entered by visitors.
The idea is to point out the missing link between the movement of the stars and people, since every time we bother least to observe daily into space. Zee
Hentschläger Kurt, Austria, 2008
Zee
is a smoke-filled room artificial light pulses, strobes and sounds by way of immersion experience leads to total confusion in perception. The audience enters into a space full of heavy fog, so that the boundaries of architecture are completely obscured. Stroboscopic devices and the pulse of light through the smoke created, kinetic structures in constant flux.
What stands out in this immersive space is that the fleeting impression that is generated at the level of experience, is the direct result of a phenomenon of interference of light waves, in this way, Zee beyond the idea be a simple visual perception. This phenomenon is captured by way of synthesis in the brain, which immediately became a "landscape of the mind." The experience is unique, never seen! Soil Hylozoic
Philip Beesley, Canada, 2009
This facility is made available as a "geared textile" signaling processes of hybridization of natural forms made with materials technology. The materials are placed by way of artificial forest where the "fabric" acts as a component interconnection matrices mechanical, networks of sensors and actuators that respond to movement of visitors as they move through the installation. Soil Hylozoic
is also a place of immersion, uses a network of sensors activated by dozens of microprocessors that generate waves of subtle movements to visitors who enter the facility. Appear so different levels of activity programs that promote the emergence of a coordinated spatial behavior: they respond with specific actions to local action. The forest is revealed as a dormant body.
To Philip Beesley is necessary to think of technology not as excessive force, but as a field of study and intimate sense. We must therefore specify the difference between artificial life and artificial intelligence, self-concepts of each other. Soil Hylozoic brings forth a new architectural research that uses technology systems to create spaces for interaction and response to its inhabitants, as well as environmental factors.
