Iqueño Sculptor: José Luis Peña and Peña

Sculptor José Luis Peña and Peña. (1910-2003)
• Born in Ica, Guadalupe, 18 September 1910.
• Studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Lima, in the Specialty of Sculpture.
• Artemio sculptor was a disciple of Ocaña, after 5 years of graduating from that institution, to travel to Europe (Paris, Rome) grant from the Peruvian government in the era of Gen. Oscar. R Benavides.
• Europe knows the famous sculptor Leo Leoni.
• With artistic knowledge acquired in his travels in European cities returned to Peru, and starts a sculpture project in honor of José de San Martín, equestrian sculpture was placed in the Plaza de Armas in the city of Pisco, Ica on 21 October 1954. Some

sculptor's works featured within the sculptors of our city, contains the master Luis Peña y Peña (Gu District adalupe-Ica) with important sculptures in our region and in different latitudes, in our city sculptures as: Renan Elias Olivera, Luis Jerónimo de Cabrera, Cachiche Witch among others, in the city of Pisco Grl equestrian sculpture. José de San Martín and the city of Lima in the largest equestrian sculpture stands in tribute to Ramón Castilla.
